VP Trish: FORE!

FORE!!! Getting close! The foursomes for the National Golf Tournament have been scheduled and forwarded to Tournament Chair, Greg Wieser. Handicaps were set based on information provided by the golfers and the scores from past tournaments. Thank you, Druhna Mary Whalen, for that information.

Gifts and prizes have been ordered; meals and entertainment are set; courses are ready for us! Nest 610 is prepared!

As I asked in the last blog, please bring a backpack (empty is fine) or non-perishable food items to donate. The Nest is going to donate to local organizations that help children and feed the hungry.

The week of August 2, each golfer will receive an email from me full of information: Nest address, times for buses, meals, entertainment – all that you need to know. If you are registered and do not hear from me, please contact me!

For those of you who have returned your waivers, thank you much! If you haven’t done so yet, please do. A waiver has been emailed to all the golfers; if you need me to mail you one, please let me know.

Enjoy! Keep safe! See you soon!!! Holy, moly, haven’t been able to say that in quite some time!

VP Trish: National Golf Deadline & Donations

The deadline for the PFA National Golf Tournament has been extended to Monday, July 19, 2021 at noon eastern. We now have 111 golfers! There is room for a few more! Register here!

If you haven’t received an email from me, please contact me. I have been emailing all (if you had someone else as your email, your name was included in the message) to let you know I received your registration and to ask for your typical scores. A waiver is also attached to the email that needs signed and returned to me before I see you in Erie.

Former Commissioner Mary Whalen has shared lots of golf information, including the scores from the last several tournaments. Since we haven’t had a tournament in two years, I thought possibly scores have changed. If you haven’t given me a handicap, I am asking for typical scores. Several of you haven’t been to a tournament in quite a while.

The Nest is supporting St. Martin’s Center. I am asking if each of the golfers would please bring a backpack to donate (empty is fine) so that we can give them to the less fortunate in need of a backpack. Thank you! Czolem!

VP Trish: Golf Update

Registration is still going well for the golf entries! This is wonderful! Nest 610 is now looking forward to receiving hole sponsorships as well. There is a link to the form on our page; the cost per hole is $100.00.

The other course we will use (in addition to Scenic Heights) is Downing, which is a city-owned course. The course was built in the 1930’s and has always been owned and operated by the city. They are looking forward to our visit.

For each of our events, we need a waiver form for all participants. In the next few days, I will be confirming your entry and emailing you a waiver. Please return to me; I would prefer that we have these prior to the Tournament. Thank you!
