Dear Falcon Bowlers:

Thank you for completing the survey that was emailed to many of you regarding our upcoming tournament. The committee and National Officers met a few times to discuss many factors such as safety, attendance, travel, restrictions, etc.

Everyone knows how disappointing it is to once again cancel the tournament in April. However at this current time with the many restrictions still in place, it is not an option to continue with this event in April.

We are hoping that many of our nation’s citizens will be vaccinated by September, to when we have postponed this year’s tournament. We received many comments both positive and negative, but decided that if we had to delay the bowling tournament until April 2022, we would begin to lose bowlers who have attended for many years. We didn’t want to lose the momentum that this tournament is beginning to pick up again.

The committee was able to change the hotel, the bowling alley, the hall and most of the entertainment to the NEW date which was exciting for the planning committee. Below you will find additional details.

Hotel Information:

There will only be one hotel this year. The hotel is close to restaurants and other attractions, as well as the St. Louis Airport.

Drury Hotel
11980 Olive Boulevard
Creve Coeur, MO 63141
Phone: 314-989-1100
Rate is $99/per night.

Reservations must be received on or before Sunday, August 22, 2021 (the cutoff date). After the cutoff date, the hotel will release the unreserved rooms for general sale. Reservations received after the cutoff date will be confirmed on a space-available basis at prevailing rates.

If you previously made hotel reservations for April, the hotel will be flipping your dates to the week in September. They will then be emailing you a new confirmation. If you do not receive a new confirmation by April 1st, please call the hotel and check on your reservation.

The rate is guaranteed for 3 nights before and 3 nights after our tournament date if you choose to come in early or stay after the tournament. If you have any problems with hotel reservations, please feel free to contact us.

The commute between the lanes and hotel is an easy one – about 18.7 miles.

Please be sure to come to this spectacular event being hosted by Nest 45, St. Louis!

Be assured the committee is busy planning everything to make this a great, memorable and safe event for all. It has been 18 years since Nest 45 has hosted a National Bowling Tournament, and they are ready to show everyone a great time. They want everyone to have a fun-filled tournament that includes bowling, dancing, eating, and sharing old and making new memories. If you have any questions, you may contact Mary Blessing at mk0928@aol.com or Cindy Schepker at cls625@yahoo.com.

Now after seeing all of this great information, I must add a short disclaimer. The National Officers and committee will be reviewing all of the information regarding COVID-19 in early June and hope that the numbers improve so that we may have this tournament. If there is no improvement, then the tournament will remain in St. Louis but will be held in April 2022.

At this time, I would ask if there is any District or Nest that is interested in hosting the next National Bowling Tournament to please feel free to contact me at multimech@aol.com or 586-933-3874. That date could be April 2022 or April 2023. Thank you.

Czolem!

Janet Knauber, National Bowling Manager
Cindy Schepker and Mary Blessing, Tournament Chairpersons
