Falconettes of Nest 430 Celebrate 95th Anniversary

On Sunday, November 9, 2008, the Falconettes of Nest 430 Auburn, New York celebrated their 95th Anniversary. The day began with National Officers, members and friends getting together for Mass at St. Hyacinth Church.

Following Mass, it was time for hors d’ouerves and a family style dinner at the Sunset Restaurant. Master of ceremonies Steve Rand introduced the Officers of Nest 430 and our guests.

Nest 430 Officers Mary Rand, President and District 9 National Director, Marcia Zolinski Vice President, Clara Stechuchak Treasurer, Christine Czubat Recording Secretary, Nancy Sroka Financial Secretary, Virginia Androsko, Maryann Dec, Mary Kosct, Mary Nowakand and Evelyn Sroka, Directors.

National President, Timothy Kuzma, Louis Tremiti, Legion of Honor Grand Master, Aurelia Parks, President District IX, Dodie Pierselek, National Cultural Comissioner, Joanne Tremiti, Second Vice President District IX, Jerry Prego, Nest 74 President and Father Richard Murphy, Assisting Priest, St. Hyacinth Church. Now it was time for a few speeches. National President Timothy Kuzma spoke on how the Polish Falcons must change to meet the needs of its members.

Mary Rand read a brief history of Nest 430. The award presentation was done by President Kuzma and Grand Master Tremiti. Bronze Star: Christine Czubat and Emily Curtin. Silver Star: Jane Auguscik, Mary Pasik, Mary Rose Kott, Jeanne Gurak, Patricia Kuzniar. Gold Star: James Zolinski, Stephanie Wawrzaszek, and Helen Wilson. Bronze Legion: Nellie Michalowski, Patricia Slaski, and Josephine Czubat. Gold Legion: Marcia Zolinski.

25 Year Members: Jill Fleszar and Joyce Young. 50 Year Members: John Curtin, Sandra Hopkins, Jean Malinowski, Barbara Moody, Carolyn Napoli, and Mary Rand.

Special heart shaped boxes were given to our Gold Legion of Honor members who are still so very active and to some of our club members that work so hard for us. Gold Legion members: Billie Bishop, Jo Kott, Genevieve May, Genevieve Rybash, Helen Skomsky, Jane Smith and Evelyn Sroka.

Club Members: Helen Barwinczak, Dolores Fleszar, Nellie Noga, Jean Prego, Patricia Rybash, Lottie Spoto, Genevive Wawaraszek and Josephine Wrobel.

Father Murphy gave the closing prayer. Jane Stebbins provided dinner music. It was a beautiful day. Thanks to everyone that helped make this a memorial anniversary.
